We pioneered the routine imaging of direct laryngoscopy with the patented Airway Cam Direct Laryngoscopy Video System beginning in 1994. Our educational products are now used in almost 4,000 institutions across 30 countries. We demystify airway anatomy and education through intensive imaging, and a “best practice” approach to intubation. Emergency airway management presents great challenges and rewards. The difference between successful intubation and the failure to intubate and oxygenate can be life and death. As emergency care providers we’ve been there.
Our interest in airway imaging led to cadaver research and pioneering investigations into now widely adopted techniques including bimanual laryngoscopy, head elevated laryngoscopy positioning, epiglottoscopy, straight-to-cuff stylet shaping, and the POGO score (percentage of glottic opening. Dr. Levitan's recent work has focused on the complexities of intubation with video and direct laryngoscopes, and techniques to prevent desaturation in emergency airways (NO DESAT: Nasal Oxygen During Efforts Securing a Tube).
Our mission is to provide clinicians the knowledge, skills, confidence, and training equipment needed to successfully manage emergency airways.
