We believe that best practice laryngoscopy,
characterized by ear-to-sternal notch positioning, epiglottoscopy, bimanual laryngoscopy,
and straight-to-cuff stylet shaping, effectively permits successful intubation in
most airways. To improve the margin
of patient safety, however, we now perform every laryngoscopy with immediately available
fiberoptic augmentation. The Levitan
FPS is a short optical stylet that merges direct laryngoscopy with fiberoptic intubation
on first pass.
